Art and Essay Contests for Jewish Deaf Students

     Jewish Deaf Community Center (JDCC) in Burbank announces two contests for Jewish deaf and hard of hearing as part of their tenth anniversary celebration.

    Any child or teenager from across the U.S. and abroad can participate. They must be Jewish, deaf or hard of hearing and choose from Elementary (K-5th), Middle School (6-8th Grade), and High School (9-12th Grade).

    Plaques and monetary prizes will be awarded during JDCC's Tenth Anniversary Banquet at Adat Ari El in Valley Village, CA on Sunday, June 2nd. Winner does not need to be present. There is no limit on the number of entries in both the Art and Essay Contests but each entry must be made on separate pieces of paper or artwork and sent to JDCC along with a current photo of the participant (either color or black & white).

Art Contest, Entry must reflect the child or teenager's feelings of being a Jew or Deaf Jew.
Essay Contest, English context is not a priority but will be judged based on how the idea is conveyed.

  2. 'Making A Difference in People's Lives - Mitzvah Deeds That I Did', 

  3. 'What JDCC Means To Us All?'.
