Five-Year Jewish Holiday Calendar

Write-On Memo Board

Dear Friend,

I am pleased to include a gift for you, a new updated Five-Year Jewish Holiday Calendar ... at no charge!

Why Are We Doing This? We started this project four years ago when we came out with the first calendar to encourage Deaf Leaders not to schedule their events during major Jewish Holidays.

There are many Jewish Holidays during the year. Which are the most important holidays that events should not conflict with:

  1. Passover - to celebrate Jewish people being freed from Egypt. During this holiday, we do not eat any grain products including bread for eight days.
  2. Shavuot - a celebration of the giving of the Torah and the Ten Commandments to Jewish people at Mt. Sinai.
  3. Rosh Hashana - the Jewish New Year.
  4. Yom Kippur - a solemn occasion where Jewish people fast for 25 hours during this Day of Atonement.
  5. Sukkot - We eat in a 'hut' for eight days to remember how the Jewish people wandered in the desert.
  6. Shemini Atzeret - a two-day celebration to close the High Holidays

After this initial mailing, there is a charge if you wish like to obtain extra write-on Five-Year Jewish Holiday Calendar (2001-2005). We also would appreciate donations to defray costs of this project.

Shalom,

Sharon Ann Dror
President
