PRESIDENT: Sharon
Ann Dror, founder of JDCC in 1992, mother of 3 deaf children. She grew up in a
traditional Jewish household in Santa Monica, California and graduated from Woodbury
University with an accounting degree. She served on the National Congress of Jewish Deaf's
board for 8 years, and was involved with several other Jewish Deaf organizations including
Temple Beth Solomon of the Deaf (Arleta, CA), Washington Society of Jewish Deaf, and
Chabad House Hearing Impaired Program in Los Angeles,CA. |
SECRETARY: David
Rosenbaum has been on the JDCC Board since 1996. After four
years at Gallaudet University, he moved to Southern California and has
been involved with JDCC since it was founded. Born to a traditional
Jewish family, he took courses on Jewish History and the Old Testament
through the mail with the equivalent of the Jewish Bureau of Education
in Australia and says these lessons helped greatly. He is currently
based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota managing Deaf Expo for Communication
Service for the Deaf. |
| TREASURER: Kenneth Rothschild. Kenneth brings to the JDCC a wealth of experience from his many years of community involvement, particularly with the Jewish Deaf. He has been involved in JDCC activities since his move from New York to California. Kenneth is a well known authority on stamps from all over the world that is related to the Deaf subject. He had a long technical professional career with IBM as a programmer before retiring and then worked with Deaf people in various capacities. |
| BOARD MEMBER AT LARGE: Jeff Lubman.
-Graduated from Gallaudet University, BA Degree in General Science 1981 -Attended CSUN/CSULA - completed some of the Graduate courses in Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling. -Hiked 2100 footpath miles from Georgia to Maine in 1984 as first (Congentially) Deaf Appalachain Trail Hiker in 1984. -Present Employment: Sr. Rehabilitation Counselor for Department of Rehabilitation as my 15th year, serving to Deaf/HH and General clients at West Covina. -Chairperson - National Racquetball Tournament for the Deaf at Fullerton/Anaheim in 1995. -Chairperson - 50th Anniversary CSDR Alumni Reunion on June 27-29, 2003. -Award of Merit from Jewish Deaf Congress in 1998 as duly recommended by the Jewish Deaf Community Center (Los Angeles) -Married to Marie (Greenstone) Lubman for 20 years! Our Deaf daughter - Nadja. |
BOARD MEMBER AT LARGE: Michael Dubowe. Michael Dubowe comes on-board as a new Board Member of JDCC with several years
of experience working with the Jewish community and other non-profit
organizations. Michael is a professional graphic and book cover designer. He
also does free-lance graphic work, especially with non-profit organizations. He
is married to Rabbi Rebecca Dubowe who is a full-time rabbi at Temple Adat
Elohim in Thousand Oaks, CA. He has two children and one yellow lab dog that
keeps him very busy and young! Michael is honored and excited to be part of the
dynamic JDCC board.
