JDCC'S
Tenth Annual Community Seder
by Kenneth S. Rothschild
One hundred seventy five participants were at JDCC's Tenth Annual
Community Seder.
A survey was conducted after Passover and the results were gratifying from
the input submitted by first-time attendees to these who have attended
JDCC Seders in the past. Attendees came from near and as far as New York
and Maryland. They all enjoyed the new social hour feature with the
vegetable appetizers.
The social hour enabled the Seder to start at 7:00 pm and the evening
flowed from therewith the multimedia viewing. It started with Marlee
Matlin explaining the purpose of the JDCC Community Seder in a multimedia
setting. Rabbi Rebecca Dubowe was next on the video with the
candle-lighting blessing and continued with the first cup of wine. DJ Kurs
came on next to be the Seder leader and kept us all enjoyable throughout
the reading of the multimedia Haggadah. The Four Questions were given by
Rachel Soudakoff and Michael Soudakoff. The participants joined Sharon Ann
Dror in the Dayeinu song. After the Seder dinner, the program continued
with the finding of the Afikomen and the Afikomen finders from each table
were given a gift card from either Target, Michaels, or Linen 'N Things.
Joshua Soudakoff gave the Chad-Gad-Yo rendition. The program concluded
with all the participants wishing each other "Next Year in Jerusalem."
