    My name is Nancy Levinson and I am a freshman at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. I am nineteen years old, Reform, and am studying to be an interpreter for the deaf.

    I just finished reading "Hear, or Sign, O Israel," the featured article in November 2002 issue of the Hadassh Magazine.

    I was happy to find you article on a hero of mine - Legendary Hungarian Fencer, Ildiko Rejto. On www.jdcc.org/l 996/mar-apr/sports.htm you spell Ildiko's name as Uslaki Rejto. It is actually Ujlaki.

    I am also annoyed that you would say she is a Jew and a resident of Hungary. That is like saying our hopefully next President Lieberman is a Jew but just an American "resident." I met Ildiko, and believe me she is a Hungarian that happens to be Jewish, as there are many other Hungarians who happen to be Unitarians, Catholics, and Buddhists... Thanks!

    I am a Jewish genetic counseling student at Cal State Northridge. I am currently doing my thesis which is based on the genetic counseling experiences of Jewish Deaf individuals. There is very little literature on this topic and I feel it is very important for the medical community. If anyone would like to participate in my research it only requires the participant to fill out a questionnaire or they can participate in an interview.
