Dear Readers,
I have had the pleasure working with Alana Olson who is a senior student
at Biola University in La Mirada, CA. In her marketing major class, she had
to find a nonprofit organization to do a marketing plan with long-term
goals. Alana explains, "The reason I called you was because I am 1/2 Jewish
and have learned sign language from my older sister who is deaf. I have a
heart to work with the deaf and hard of hearing and when I saw your
organization's website I got so excited to find you. I was amazed that there
was a Jewish deaf community center." When I first spoke with her, I said we
couldn't afford to hire a marketing person and she said there are no costs!
Well you are on it! So we met once every two weeks to go over the marketing
goals while she gathered and researched JDCC's history of weakness and
strengths. I went to the Non Profit Banquet on May 19th and saw the
completed marketing plan for JDCC. I look forward to having a guideline for
goals and ideas on the next 10 years of JDCC's personal growth. Thank you,
Alana for making it possible! And I look forward to working with you.
I am excited to announce our High Holiday services this year. Don't miss
out on this event! Come and join us!
Wishing you all a very happy and healthy new year!!! L'Shana Tovah
