Hi Readers,
JDCC is grateful to continued financial support from several foundations
that made it possible to do the third edition of JDCC's Multimedia Community Seder. We thank several people who agreed to be videotaped: Bernard Bragg who introduced and shared some history on Passover and the
multimedia concept; Rabbi Rebecca Dubowe who signed the Kiddush and explained some prayers, board member Jeff Dichter who led the service and my older son Joshua for asking the "famous Four Questions". I
also helped out signing the favorite "Dayeinu" and
"Chad-Gad-Yo" songs as usual! We are now making plans to record
voiceovers for benefit of hearing participants.
Sixty people attended this year's JDCC Community Seder at Temple Adat
Ad El in Valley Village, CA and we all were happy not only with the food but the lovely atmosphere. We hope to book the Temple again for next
year and hope to meet our friends at Temple Beth Solomon of the Deaf (TBS) regarding the possibility of having the Seder together. If you are a
TBS member, we would appreciate your sharing with TBS officers how you feel about the idea to host the 2002 Seder service.
To those of you who heard about my induction into the National Congress
of Jewish Deaf/Jewish Deaf Congress (NCJD/JDC)'s Hall of Fame, I thank you. I was pleased to be recognized in the Sports Category for my past
ice skating endeavors.
The JDCC board will be meeting in Burbank on June 16th. Please feel
free to e-mail us at JDCCNews@aol.com if there is an item you think we
should add to the agenda for the board meeting.
Wishing You All A Great Summer! |
