Dear Readers,
We all wish you a very happy healthy new year! L
Shana
tovah!
As we inscribe a new year, what does the future hold for JDCC? Your personal life? Business? Its time to sit
down and look back what we have done, accomplished in the past year. What would we have
done differently if we could change it?
I do know that I wish we had JDCC's High Holidays services scheduled this year because we have been receiving e-mails and calls asking for
information on services in the Los Angeles area. Unfortunately, at this time, I do not know
of any. Where will I celebrate? I will be hosting my own private services with friends.
It's time for people to realize that we cannot simply take things for granted that someone will
be 'taking care of their needs.' Its time to offer your help and say here I am and what can
I do to help to ensure that JDCC does not cancel their services again. We all have a busy
life, believe it or not I have my own life too. JDCC News is a time consuming project and
people have come to rely on it to get Jewish Education by reading and learning features on
Judaism on all topics from A to Z, learn more about their common Jewish deaf leaders, news
in the Jewish Deaf Community, and much more. We are the only national Jewish Deaf
publication printed six times a year. There are similar Temple or Club membership
newsletter. But JDCC does not charge any member ship fee. The only charge is JDCC
subscription dues.
It's a rewarding when we receive subscription renewals or new subscriptions knowing that people want to read JDCC News and that our time is appreciated. When
they also include a donation to help out with JDCC finances, we are gratefully. Whether the
donation is from a person who is far or near, whether he or she has time to help out in
person, making contributions is a way of acknowledging that we are here and reaching people
of all kinds! Thanks again for all!
May We Be Sealed With A New Year! |
