Hello,

Shalom to all! I have just cruised by your wonderful website this evening. I am not Jewish but I do recom mend that all Jewish and non-Jewish readers visit this site! There's plenty of information, tidbits and connec tions in there which one can use! At this time, I have only two requests in here ---- one is that I'd like to somehow get in touch with David Rabinowitz who has been living in the Detroit area close to 20 years now. He is deaf, married to a lovely deaf woman. The second request is can someone please recommend me a Pentateuch or a similar scripture book that has both English and Hebrew translations? I thank you for taking the time to read this short email. Shalom!

Shalom to you all.

For several years, I have been looking for a long lost Jewish friend of
mine who had attended at NTID in 1977 to 1979. His name is Richard I. Green. Richard is hard of hearing and used to live in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Last I heard from him, he moved to California either in 1979 or 1980. If you have any information where he is, please contact me via my email address. Your assistance in this matter would be gladly appreciated.

Shalom,

Sharon, hope you are well, you have been in your long time participate, you impressed me, smile, so I the same since 1960's ! I read the memo of your coming events of Hadassah s convention in July so I want to say by me and behalf of [Canadian] Toronto Jewish Association of the DEAF (TJAD) to your organization: Mazel tov and best wishes on the coming event. Sorry, I cannot make it as costly to travel and expenses as the issues have been changed to run the organization that we do not get funds as others like bingo's and casino's run low to donate to many organizations so I  have to find other way as it is tough as hit hard all three donations at same year of 1999 hit bad then closely finished then get one idea. Right now my new goals is number one to get small office because it was so sad that many new immigrants since late 70' s like Americans Jew ish Deaf have no identities also permanent living here from birth right here the same thing have no interested so I have to have office as get small one step at a time with many issues.

Hope, you stay as no matter how weak and strong as it is your heart to show, so I ! Also I am ok as positive as happy that is most important thing to show my smile and care for others if  I have little time for proposes in Life, I have not forgotten that you respected me with your nice words or attitude as we are not the perfectionist people perhaps the E mail each other is like we are closely than saying "faraway" I think computer is our advantages, before closing, Burach, your Canadian neighbour.

Hi,

I am a Jewish individual with working knowledge of He brew, a strong background in various Jewish topics, flu ency in ASL, and a deep interest in Judaism and Jewish Continuity. I'm studying to become an interpreter, and am hoping to specialize in Jewish interpreting - temple services, weddings, bar-mitzvahs, funerals, holiday events, etc. However, I am currently looking for a job JULY/AUGUST working in a signing environment with Jewish Deaf. I live in NY, but I would be willing to travel, and possibly to relocate. Please let me know if you have any positions available, or if you could refer me to other Jewish Deaf agencies that might. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Dear Rachel,

I read with much interest your article about Mikvah. I hope it will succeed in having more deaf women observe this very important Mitzvah. I would just like to add two items of information for your records. Here in New York City, Our Way with Beth Torah of the Deaf have joined together to sponsor two separate classes for married men and women to review the laws concerning Mikvah. Also I am including for you a copy of the Mikvah Directory that lists the location and contact information for Mikvahs throughout the world. This pamphlet is available by sending $4.00 to the Orthodox Union - Synagogue Services 11 Broady, New York, N.Y. 10004
