National Anthem of the State of Israel

HATIKVAH

So long as still within our breasts
The Jewish heart beats true,
So long as still towards the East,
To Zion, looks the Jew,
So long our hopes are not yet lost,
Two thousand years we cherished them,
To live in freedom in the Land of Zion and Jerusalem

  • 1 piece of decorative mate Hal or paper
  • 3 or 4 Israeli stamps pinking shears or regular scissors

Instructions:

  1. 1. Peel the backing off one piece of clear adhesive backed paper and place it sticky side up.
  2. Center the piece of decorative material or paper face up on the sticky surface. Arrange 3 or 4 Israeli stamps on the material.
  3. Peel the backing off an other piece of clear adhesive-backed paper. Center it, stucky side down, on the stamp covered material. Pressing firmly with your fingers, rub the back and front of the bookmark to help the layers stick together.
  4. With pinking shears or regular scissors, slightly trim the edges of the adhesive backed paper.

These bookmarks make great gifts and can be used as party favors or give them to readers.

The Israel flag was shown on a postage stamp that was issued on March 31, 1949 in honor of the appointment of the government by the Knesset.
