Well, where did the time go? Its time to start making High Holiday plans! This year it falls very late in September. If you have information on any services, please do share it with us. JDCC will not host services this year.

We may, however, have a Chanukah party. If you are interested in hosting the Chanukah party, please email us at JDCCNews@aol.com

JDCC held their board meeting. Jeff Dichter was elected as Treasurer. The Five-Year Jewish Calendar project was renewed for another five years. We will host the Passover Community Seder on the second evening in 2001 due to the fact that the first evening Seder can not take place before Shabbat ends on Saturday night in April. We will participate at Deaf Expo '2000 in Long Beach with a booth during the weekend of November 17th. Interested in volunteering, please contact us.

JDCC just turned eight years old this month! Looking back to these eight memorable years, its been a rewarding experience watching JDCC go through growing pains and still has so much to offer. I look forward to seeing more people commit to helping JDCC organize local events which is an area that needs improvement. JDCC News is going very strong and we continue to get letters expressing their appreciation in learning about Judaism and reading about other Jewish deaf fellows and news in the Jewish Deaf Community. Remember we are here and you can send us information anytime.

I wish you all a great summer and enjoy participating in the conventions taking place this summer! Shalom!
