The Jewish Week of Long Island, New York - May 12, 1995. Front cover headlines: "New York's deaf Jews and the search for a sense of community - A Voice of their Own." It featured five pages including photos and religious signs, and listed a Directory of Services.
APPEARING ON TV
David Freedman appears on NBC-TV's The John Larroquette
Show" in January. He plays as an older Deaf Jewish Couple with Vikee Waltrip
(Non-Jewish) who sits in the lounge and listens to a really BAD singer which David assumed
was a comedian.
Marlo Lovitch is appearing in Macintosh's most recent TV commercial.
JDCC'S 4th ANNUAL CHANUKAH PARK
We had over 40 participants at our recent party. We played
dreidel and had a Chanukah quiz. Scott Brachman won the quiz.
A traditional dinner including potato lathes and blintzes was served. We even had sufganlyot which Sharon's aunt from Israel made (while teaching her step sister-in-law how to make it) in the Soudakoff's madhouse. Every time it was served, it was gone in seconds!!!
Big Thanks to Santa Monica Chabad House for donating Menorahs and candles which each participant took home.
We exchanged gifts. It was fun picking out wrapped gifts and not knowing what it was!
