Barbara Boyd was the advisor. The Teens Havurah, Jeremy Balkan, Rebecca Schoor, Michelle Silvers, Jake Weiss, and CSUN Jewish Deaf students, Melanie Chaplick, Lauren Abbott and Eric Posner all participated as well as volunteers, Mark Friedman, Muriel 8 David Freedman joined over 150 other volunteers. They won the Directors' Trophy! This award was judged on the outstanding artistic merit in design and floral presentation. It was a beautiful "Photo Safari". We are proud of these people! Kodak's 1995 Float, "Photo Safari"
You may note that it was on Monday, January 2nd, not on the first on Sunday this year. The officials initiated the "Never on Sunday" policy in 1893 fearing that the parade would frighten horses tethered outside local churches and subsequently, disturb worship services! Teen Havurah On April 22nd, they will be cheering on their counselors Melanie Chaplick and Lauren Abbott in the Miss Deaf CSUN Pageant. Call Eric Posner at 818/701-9059 TDD if you are interested in the JDCC - Los Angeles Teen Havurah. A Farewell Message from Bill Parker |
